A Georgia girl at heart, Dr. Julien currently resides with her family in Orlando, Florida. Her undergraduate degree in Psychology is from West Virginia University. She earned a Masters of Education from the University of Georgia, and did her doctoral work in conflict management at Trinity Theological Seminary. Additionally, her background includes work with paraprofessional counseling and teaching programs, and specific training in personal boundaries and mentoring.
Dr. Julien has been involved in the conflict resolution field academically since 1998, and has participated in the Transformative Mediation community for the past seven years, developing her expertise in this area as a researcher, practitioner and educator. She is an experienced conference speaker on Transformative applications, presenting at both the Association for Conflict Resolution and the North American Association of Christians in Social Work 2010 and 2011 Annual Conferences. Extensive training in the principles and practices that serve as the basis for this class has contributed to her passion for introducing them to people desiring more self-confidence in navigating the challenges of interpersonal conflict.
Kay’s strengths are her enthusiastic teaching style, her listening skills, and the encouragement she gives to others. She is a happy wife, mother, and mother-in-law, a dedicated Women’s Masters rower (member of the Orlando Area Rowing Society), and is actively committed to the vision of Moms In Touch International. She is a lover of poetry, good friends, and the therapeutic properties of chocolate.
